- In 1792 BC, Hammurabi became the ruler of the city f Babylon
- The Hittites captured Babylon in 1595 BC using advanced weaponry an ruled for almost 400 years
- The Assyrian army than captured Babylon in the 1200's and ruled from their capital city Nineveh through local leaders
- In 612 BC, the Chaldeans destroyed the Assyrian empire and their leader Nebuchadnezzar ruled
- Sumer ended in 2004 BC when the salt evaporated from the soil and it became dry and unusable
